bladder spasms

i've been plagued with bladder infection for over 6 months. 10-14 days of meds only to come back 1-2 weeks later. now im taking macrobid daily but have awful bladder spasms again and roasting hot. the spasms come with this intense heat. my question is what would help these spasms and do they mean infection is back...i have a sp cath.

Are you sure that your catheter is draining? DO you have any stones? Are you seeeing any sediment in your urine? Can you feel any gravel in your catheter? When was your last IVP or Renal Scan so that you know what is going on with your GU system? Spasms just mean that something is going on- it does not necessarily mean that something is an infection. I would recommend that you make sure you don't have stones or reflux.

With the macrobid, make sure that you are drinking enough fluids to clean out the system. At least 2 quarts a dyay.
