for me, this is just fucking badass. I did around four hours of riding to 9,800ft, over 1000ft vertical in less the two miles & then ripping this exquisitely burmed single track through the aspens for two miles. some days are actually still very worth it......

Nice!!! Itching to try a MTBing again but not confident how I'll handle it - still get intense pain flareups if I hit a bump on the road and a lot more leg strength required on single track, so for the time being I'll stick to the road... last leg of our Euro trip over with two golds in World Cup in Segovia, Spain. Sitting wide awake in a cheap hotel waiting for the last bus back home where I'll have a six week block of hard training before heading over to Canada for the world champs.

5 Mile handcycle ride just over 20 minutes. Gotta keep that time down for this upcoming 10K

Gorgeous photos, Steve. I'm in Monterey, Ca. Crutching along the ocean path today for 2 hours - yes, there are still some good moments. Don't have my computer to post pictures right now.

Very nice! IŽll try to do a Triathlon one day... The only problem is that I donŽt like to swim

*Had to pee between the bike and the run. The door to the port-o-potty was really tightly sprung, and there was only about 30" of sidewalk between the edge of the potty and the curb. So when I was leaving I was trying to push the door open but also trying not to push myself over the curb. I fell over backwards, chair and all, and then the door delivered the coup de grace by smashing into my head. Helmet to the rescue!

So everybody hauled me back up and stuffed me into the racing chair, and off I went.

I thought I didn't like to swim, but now that I'm doing it, I find it very restful and enjoyable. It's the part of the triathlon where you don't really have to go all out, because it's so short that it's not going to make much difference. So you just swim and stretch out and kind of get lightly warmed up and it's great.

Crutch walking on this ocean side cliff walk. One could push a W/C on this. There are still moments like this one that are good.
