I'm on travel, so a 3 mile push (everyday chair) on the Bay Trail in Burlingame, CA. Very strong headwind off the bay on the way back.

Finally nice enough to be outside without longjons, been wheeling a good half mile a day, am up to 56 pushups as of today and very little trouble with tranfers. Have been doing rotator cuff exercise for the past 11 months. Am thinking its not bad for being a quad 40 years post at age 63. Might get a power chair in 20 or so years. Use it or lose it!

Oldtimer - although it sounds as trite, I'll say it. You inspire me to keep going . 40 years of quadhood and 63 doing pushups. Thanks for posting that !

Can any of you recommend some good state parks or public trails in the midwest and west coast area's? My wife and I want to drive across country this summer . she likes to bike and I thought I would take my hand cycle. I appreciate any ideas you guys might have for us to stop at for the day. Thank you.

Still training and writing hard.

Had our national para-cycling champs a couple of weeks ago and great to see athletes in just about every classification on single bikes, tandems, tricycles and hand cycles. I'm off to Europe on 1st May (flights permitting) for 6 wks of training and racing in Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland. The national team was also just announced for world champs in Canada in August - so I'll be heading over there for 3.5 weeks (Quebec). All road (time trials and road races). Still waiting on the venue and dates for track world champs.

I say writing - my PhD is due in August. It'll be a bit late with the 'interruptions' to go ride my bike, but I'm getting closer and I can't wait till the day I can come home after training and working and just relax and chill-out.....

Arndog, I'll be exercising till they screw me in the ground. Was doing 180 pushups daily until rotator cuff injury in 6-08, am headed back up hill again, just can't quit!

Back on the bike for me. 10 miles today and working new torso muscles. I already miss skiing!

We stopped at Mammoth on our way home from the Abilities show in LA last week where I showed my FreeWheel. It was such a white-out that we didn't even get out of the car!

But, I am motivated to get new online muscles into the best shape and see what I can do. I got completely off baclofen and it's all new. It's taken months to get that stuff out of my system!
