Hey guys, new here. new to SCI also.

Hey everyone. I'm Jesse, 17 years old. My accident happend auguest 30th, 2008. So, pretty new to all this SCI stuff...
So this is pretty much what happend. Me, and my three good friends went for a joy ride in the mountins.
We seen this huge cliff and got out of the car. We seen a path beside the cliff to get on top, and eventually got
to the top. Once we got there we took a long break on the edge of the cliff, probably about a foot from the drop off.
I know, stupid, right? So, its about 6-7 pm getting dark, we decide we should start heading back before it's to dark.
we all stand up, my friends heard me say "Oh, shit!" and they turned around, and I was gone. They ran down
the cliff path and got to me, I fell about 50 feet. They called 911 and had to drive to the bottom of the mountin to show
the ambulence how to get up. Once they got there, I was bleeding like.. Everywhere, so they tore off all my clothes.
(that I bought that day by the way > ) I was taqken to Stayton hospital, they couldn't do much. so I was flown in
to Legacy Emanual hospital by Life Flight in Portland oregon. I remember waking up the next day in ICU.
Very, Very confused. So, I broke my nose, jaw, lots of teeth, two got knocked out. Fractuerd my neck, c3, and right wrist,
lower lumbar, and the T5 on my spine.. had two back serguery's and one face one.
During the fall, and most bit part of my tounge off, so part was sowed back on. looked pretty gnarly till the swelling
went down. So, thats pretty much it. Still in the hospital, working hard in rehab so I can get the hell out of here.

I live on the road going out of scio to Mill City. Where was your accident at? They have you at Legacy hope they treat you better than OHSU, thats where I was flown to and they aren't the best with spinal injuries. Keep your spirits up as much as possible and the thing that I was told by another spinal injury patient while I was in the hospital look what you lived through if you can make it through that you can make it through anything as long as you set your mind to it and be determined.

Thats good. I have a friend thats a nurse there Lindsey Sweet. She was a nurse at OHSU that treated me and we ended up being good friends she moved over there cuz of the difference in pratices. Much nicer and care more. I still to this day spend ever holiday from Labor Day through Thanksgiving with her. Sounds like your handling this pretty good. And not letting it get you down though thats great!
