Ever feel like you've got something shoved up your butt?

Well I do and it's really been bothering me lately. As far as I know I don't have any hemorrhoids hanging out and there doesn't appear to be any blood during bowel care. I've just been assigned a different doctor whom I've never met and I don't really know if I should make an appointment just because my butthole has been hurting. Can a doctor tell much just by examining the rectum in the doctors office?

Are you sure you're not backed up dointime? I get that 'something shoved up my butt' feeling when I'm backed up some.

I also get it if I should happen to browse the Politics forum and read a few posts. But at least I know the cure for that.

Good luck, and you should check for hemmies by using a mirror. Also, I'm not sure, but I believe the inner hemmies cause more problems than those sticking out. Have to have a SCINurse correct me on that last statement, should I be wrong.

Thanks, RDF. I'm pretty sure it's not that. I take stool softeners and get enough fiber to produce a soft, stinky, big pile of poop every MWF morning.

Maybe I have some internal hemorrhoids that are causing the discomfort. It has been going on for a little while. I'm going to try some Preparation H and see if that helps.

Yep. I hate to admit it, but I do get the stick up my arse feeling from time to time. Generally, it means that I have a monster poop on its way.

Same feelings here, like there is a coke can in my butt. It is usually after a bowel routine but sometimes on the alternate day. Often occurs even when there is no obvious cause, [FONT='Verdana','sans-serif']hemorrhoids [/FONT]not visible, stomach flat and empty looking, but then a day or sometimes more of backed up feeling. You would think that this would be less likely when obviously empty following bowel routine but usually occurs then. I can't feel when going to the bathroom or stim so why can I feel this feeling? It may be just neuropathic/phantom feeling but then why does it occur after my routine? It is probably not indicating that there is anything there but makes me wary of eating much when it occurs, just in case. Of course t often occurs on days when I am supposed to be going out for dinner.

This is embarrassing, but what I didn't mention is that I have what a doctor told me was a skin tag in my ass. From what I can find out it's just a growth of skin protruding from my asshole. I don't know if that is what's causing the discomfort or if I actually do have some hemorrhoids inside. I made an appointment to have it looked at the first week in October. I'm told that skin tags shouldn't hurt so maybe it's something else, but skin tags can be surgically removed without a problem if necessary.

Yeah, SCI is the gift that keeps on giving.

I have had the ol'Butt pain for over 5 years now!!! Over time it becomes a train in the night. I deal with it but somtime have to get on the hydro if it to bad. Its at its worst when I have been sitting a long time.

I feel all of U's pain!
