Define "radical"? Would, say, boycotting public transportation qualify as such?

Who among us could purchase an adequate individual health plan for $2,500? A family plan for $5,000? Health care prices will still be determined by the market under the Obama plan. It is just that the uninsured consumers will have more leverage by banding together to be represented by our government in health care negotions. Anyone preferring their current form of health insurance will be able to keep it. We have far too many instances of unregulated markets working to the detriment of the average citizen. Best Value, not lowest cost, is the target to hit. What good is low cost if it doesn't buy what you need?

The McCain plan would give the individual a $2,500 refundable tax credit, and the family a $5,000 refundable tax credit, so they could seek out and acquire the health insurance policy that best suits their needs - Basically, this would shift the tax incentives from the employer to the individual - And, if they had money left over, it could be invested in a health savings account.

The idea behind deregulation is that it would promote a market driven industry which could actually improve access and lower costs – Rather than facilitate an artificial environment in which “the insurance industry can charge whatever they want.”

If it was not for ADABT we'd all still be in nursing homes, well not paras

but even paras would be stranded.

many people work like hell and then come here to vent frustrations

if i thought mccain administration could be a friend to science i might vote for him, but now he can't

normally i'm not a 1 issue person but a canadate who will not commit to science big time with all the probabilities is a joke

bi-partisanship........in our dreams

Coburn and friends had a chance to reach across the isle and blew it.

Confronting the Long-Term Challenge

John McCain Will Develop A Strategy For Meeting The Challenge Of A Population Needing Greater Long-Term Care. There have been a variety of state-based experiments such as Cash and Counseling or The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) that are pioneering approaches for delivering care to people in a home setting. Seniors are given a monthly stipend which they can use to hire workers and purchase care-related services and goods. They can get help managing their care by designating representatives, such as relatives or friends, to help make decisions. It also offers counseling and bookkeeping services to assist consumers in handling their programmatic responsibilities.
