It's you being incomplete.
My injury's complete and I have no bladder sensation. I know when I'm desperate to pee (full bladder) when I get goosebumps/headache from autonomic dysreflexia.

Complete here, I don't even remember what it feels like to need to pee.

Is it really that big a deal to cath at night? I wake up, do it, go back to sleep.
I didn't even think of this at all. I think I'll start setting my alarm to go off at least once during the night to cath (I've had kidney infections due to reflux and they are not fun). I can always keep a urinal and a hydrophillic catheter next to my bed, so I don't have to get out of bed to cath and can go back to sleep quickly.

Not comfortable! but sooo much better now that I can cath myself when full.

I cath 4-6 hours during the day but have always gone 8-9 hours during the night with no problems.

Yup, I can sometimes tell when it is really full .... I get that antsy feeling .... like before when you are pacing outside the bathroom door, becase you can;t even stand still to wait? But I am just starting to recognise it. Or AD hits.

I can usually make it from last thing before sleep until morning, but that is what I do. And morning isn;t necessarily when I get up. I may cath at 6:30 or so, and then go back to sleep.

Since you aren't making it overnight, it probabably isn;t good. Waking up wer once in a while is one thing, but all the time I think is a sign you need to change something.

I could and have gone all night...probably 12 hrs at times with no problems(besides uti!). I always cath right before bed and don't really restrict my fluids.

The big problem with waiting was I was setting myself up for uti's. I use a very sterile technique. New cath kit each time, wash hands or use sanitizer, gloves, etc but still I would gradually get one and my urine was always a little cloudy unless I drank way too much. Now I cath every 4 or 5 hours, just set my alarm and fall right back to sleep. I'm half asleep when I cath. My urine has never been as clear as it is now that I started this. It's clear like when on antibiotics! It isn't a big hassle to break up my sleeping and nice to not restrict fluids at all. I usually take gatoraid and a pitcher of water to bed. I know bacteria grows fast after a certain number of hours and that was my main problem.

To the other question...yes I feel when I'm full. I got a 'I gotta go' pee dance, just like AB days. I don't cross my legs or grab my crotch though, well I take that back, lol.

This feeling...is it connected to AD? I feel anxious and weird, but it's only because of the AD with me, I'm sure.

No, its like that "gotta go" dance November mentioned. I just can't sit still. I am just connecting it .... it is somewhat new, along with the fact that I get a funny feeling in my lower abdomen. Last night I went out to eat with my daughters, and we all had a large iced tea. They both hit the ladies room before they left, so I knew obviousy, I probably needed to go as well. I didn;t bother there, since we were heading right home, but all the way in the car I had to keep re positioning, just couldn;t sit still.

I usually leak before ad hits actually, but my leaking is random .... not always at a specific volumn, so therefore whether I start with some ad is random. My "have to pee" ad is more a headachy, nauseous, clammy feeling. But I have never connected the antsy feeling to ad, so maybe it was? I didn;t leak, and cathed over 600, so based on my previous experiences, I should have been starting with ad.

It has woken me a few times in the night as well, only I haven;t always connected it fast enough.

But I am trying to listen to my body better.

I see this as well, if I cath first thing when my hubbies alarm goes off at 6, even if I go back to sleep after, things are usually pretty good, but if for some reason I over sleep and go too long things look iffy for a few days.

I also see this with large volumes .... after last nights "too full" mine is iffy today.

Right, I think I understand. We really are all so different with our injuries.

I don't always get AD at a specific volume either. Nowadays it's usually at around 300mls, but sometimes I'm ok until 500mls, and other times it's 250mls.
I will pee myself if I don't cath after goosebumps, but I do seem to get a little time, and it's been a long time since I last peed myself (I don't get UTIs, which helps).
