Your thoughts???

I kind of have a guy friend here....

So would a guy who is just a friend take another just a friend to see Sex and the City? I dont like cartoons (kung fu panda) and he doesnt like Adam Sandler so we went to see Sex and the City. Those were the only movies playing.

Its not like we had to go see a movie....

I am moving to soutwestern Colorado in July and he is resigning his position here to go back to Pheonix (only six hours between us). We both hate this town!!! He already talks about visiting....

We have spent alot of time together lately and we have so much fun together. I took him across the bridge in Taos NM (the Rio Grande gorge) and he freaked out on me screaming like a girl. He still rides with me though....LOL

Clue me in....it has been eight years since I have dated or even given it a second thought so how do I know?

I'm guessing he chose SITC because he figured you'd like it so he was trying to do something you'd enjoy.

Personally, I'd rather remove my own liver with a spoon than see horse-face SJP bleat for 2.5 hours but if I was trying to keep a lady friend sweet I'd probably succumb and see it.

(or........he could be gay )

Given the movie's context, did you two talk about it? Did he give you any indication he has an interest in a relationship? Sometimes people may use other sources to express what they're feeling by proxy; it helps them cope with their vulnerability.

Sitting through a long "chick-flick" is a nice possible indication he's open to more. In all seriousness, are you certain this man is heterosexual and doesn't see you as his "fag hag"? Just looking out for your emotions.

I used the quotes to express lack of better terms.

Are you asking if your friend might be gay? If so, there is a simple test you can administer to shed some light on the question.

First, a little background on how the test was developed. The issue of "gays in the military" was at it's peak. The controversial Clinton "don't ask, don't tell" policy had not yet been implemented. The military (I forget which branch) was conducting investigations to discover homosexuals in the ranks. Like most things paid for by the Department of Defense, this turned into a very costly enterprise. I don't recall the exact cost, but it was tens of thousands of dollars per "outed" individual.

Flaming gay actor, Harvey Firestone, was outraged that his government was spending these vast sums to find out who was gay. He proposed this simple alternative, which he explained to the world using his one-of-a-kind gravely voice and exaggerated body language.

"Just go up to the guy, say 'Clang, Clang, Clang''. If he responds by saying 'went the trolley', you've got your man!"

Good luck with the move and the new job.

How is the body language? Which is his favorite SATC girl? (That might not be pertinent, but it's at least as good as Clang, clang clang )

What does he do when you take your clothes off?

Sorry, this is too fun! Is he seeing other women? I'm useless, married old thing that I am, but give us more details to chomp on!

Then there are two other possibilities:

1) He's an average guy who suffered through SATC to please you. Such a selfless gesture should have earned him one of the two things average guys recognize to be sincere expressions of gratitude. One of them is food and alcohol brought to him while he watches the NBA playoffs. The other also allows him to be passive while he is being served.

2) He is an unusually sensitive heterosexual male very much in touch with the female within himself. (most guys want it the other way - themselves inside a female).

It's the screaming on the bridge that has me scratching my head.

No matter, y'all seem to got it goin' on, and that's a good thing!

If it is reason #2, he might still enjoy the following:

Does he drink cosmopolitans or if this is a future date...don't order one for him. But ask him to a movie. I take it Indiana Jones is not an option?
