Feeling "Normal" again.
Well Im A year and a half in, I have my good days and my bad days But Lately Im starting to feel dare I say "normal" again. I still wake up some mornings and try to stand up out of bed. The other day I was on the back porch throwing the ball with my dog and not thinking trying to stand up to play with him. I am still paralised I still dont have full feeling but have dull feeling everwhere my legs get hot and cold like normal. I can feel my butt its nice knowing what im sitting on. Also knowing where my feet and legs are this use to mess with my head big time. The only movement I have got back is my toes/ feet. I can move them but not much else also have good control of my bowels and feeling of when I need to go. Its Nice to kinda feel somewhat normal It gives me the feeling that Im going to make it through this and will one day be back on my feet and that progress is progress Becase I know some people have zero recovery. Its nice to not have my body feel awkward. I know this is not much of a question or problem just venting to people that will understand. I cant describe being paralised to my ab friends but If I talk to friends that are also paralised they know exactly what im talking about.

Sounds like you're doing alright. I bet having your bud/dog there helps pull through the rough days. My sister's dog always boosts my mood.

It odd and scary at the same time. Im making progress although I hoped to be jumping rope and running marathons by now. Whats scary Is the thought of getting use to being paralised I feel I am to strong minded for that. Its odd laying in bed and feeling your legs get hot under the covers but your feet are cold becase they are not covered. Today I was driving in my car and just thinking wow I feel 100% Normal My back wasnt hurting My butt or now the lack of a butt is not hurting And I feel Like I could just open my car door and step out to get gas! I can feel my legs and feel like they are a part of me again and not just dead weight.
