Neurogenic pain
hiya all,
i just wanted to find out what or how you treat Neurogenic pain? My brother suffers from this which he has down his forearm and now that he has given baclofen the axe (due to the side effects) the pain is travelling up his bicep. how do you treat your neurogenic pain? xoxo kisses Efsta

The front-line approach is to use Neurontin or Lyrica, and perhaps combine it with a tricyclic anti-depressant such as Elavil. These all work to help calm the nerves, which is the approach you want to take for neuropathic pain. Typical painkillers often don't touch this type of pain and it's very stubborn. Unfortunately, there's often no truly effective treatment, but different approaches can usually tame it down to a lower level. Depending on how much area is affected you might also try a TENS unit.
