Most of the feedback I get when I talk about SCI includes an enormous surprise that there is any level or degree of paralysis, other than complete and that any quad can function at all independently. In other words, the uninformed public equates all quads with the image of CR and no movement below the neck at all. You should see the faces when I tell that one of my quad friends made me a great dinner or that when I am at the lab at Rutgers, Jeff opens the door for his wife and I and has driven me around town! They have this image of me having to render complete care to people when I go to NJ, not getting wined, and dined and entertained as well as I do. This to me is the funniest misconception...
