PVA Disaster Relief Funds Are Available To Members Harmed by
Storms

WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Paralyzed Veterans of
America (PVA) offers disaster relief funds to its members and other
veterans with severe disabilities whose property was damaged
recently by tropical storm Isidore and hurricane Lili in the
Louisiana and Texas Gulf Coast areas. Veterans can apply for
financial assistance through PVA's Texas and Bayou Gulf States
chapters.

Assistance may be used for transportation, temporary shelter,
food, home repairs or modifications for wheelchair accessibility,
medical supplies and prosthetic appliances. Veterans who qualify
may be eligible for up to $2,500 per family. Priority is given to
PVA members.

"PVA recognizes how overwhelming the trauma from a hurricane or
tropical storm can be. Our members have had a major upheaval in
their lives from a spinal cord injury; now this storm has assaulted
them again. We want to help them get their lives back on track as
soon as possible," said Joseph L. Fox, Sr., PVA national president.

For more information or to request an application for financial
assistance, veterans should call PVA's Texas chapter in Houston,
TX, at 800-933-4261 or send an email to or call PVA's Bayou-Gulf
States Chapter in Gulfport, MS, at 228-563-2558 or send an email to
bgspva(At)bayou-pva.org.

Paralyzed Veterans of America, a veterans service organization
chartered by Congress, has for more than 55 years served the needs
of its members, all of whom have catastrophic paralysis caused by
spinal cord injury or disease. To learn about PVA, visit its web
site at http://www.pva.org.

Before we allow ourselves to be consumed by our regrets, we should remember the mistakes we make in life are not so important as the lessons we draw from them.." Outer Limits(Last supper)
