What does this mean in MRI report
I have been having some problems recently, such as a couple of toes and side of foot turning black/blue, etc. I also failed my yearly neuro exam, increased reflexes, babinskis, and something about eye reflex. My neuro sent me for MRI and some of this I don't understand.
1. Likely Hemangioma at T-4. This has never been seen before so where would it come from and what does "likely" mean. Sould I be concerned that it is a cancer since it was not there before??? 2. Post surgical changes at T7 through T8. What are post surgical changes? They were not able to fully decompress and calcified disc material was left in cord. What could have happened to the pieces they couldn't get? (surgery 8 yrs. ago) 3. C6-7 There is a broad posteriorly projecting disk and spurring that result in moderate central canal stenosis and deformity of both the thecal sac and spinal cord. The CSF is not comletely effaced........bilateral mild neural foramina narrowing. Isn't a central canal stenosis and deformity of sac and cord a spinal cord compression? What does CSF not completely effaced mean? 4. Thoracic spine scoliosis is evident with the convexity towards the right. There is other info about atrophy and myelomalacia but this if from original problems. (I have metal fixation at C4-6) I have my MRI's on disc, with reader, and I can't see this hemangioma. One MRI kind of looks like there is a syrinx but I would think report would state that???? Can anyone tell me what this stuff means? // [This message was edited by cindy on 09-28-04 at 01:32 PM.] |
