Spring Gobbler Hunts in Virginia

Virginia Wheelin' Sportsmen has the following events scheduled for April and May. If you have a disability and would like to participate, please complete the attached form. Be sure to indicate which hunt/hunts that you are interested in attending.

Hunt 1 - New Kent Forestry Center Spring Gobbler Hunt I - April 22-23 '05
We will team-up with the Va. Dept. of Forestry and the Va. Dept. of Game to host this Spring Gobbler Hunt at the New Kent Forestry Center in Providence Forge. Hunters will meet at the site Friday evening for dinner, discussion of the next day's hunt, and attempt to locate birds for Saturday morning. Selected hunters are responsible for their own lodging Friday evening. Hunting time is one half hour before sunrise until noon, with lunch to follow. Application deadline is April 2nd.

Hunt 2 - New Kent Forestry Center Spring Gobbler Hunt II - May 6-7 '05
We will, once again, team-up with the Va. Dept. of Forestry and the Va. Dept. of Game to host this Spring Gobbler Hunt at the New Kent Forestry Center in Providence Forge. Hunters will meet at the site Friday evening for dinner, discussion of the next day's hunt, and attempt to locate birds for Saturday morning. Selected hunters are responsible for their own lodging Friday evening. Hunting time is one half hour before sunrise until dark. We will break for lunch. Application deadline is April 20th.

Hunt 1 and 2 Requirements: Hunters must comply with the following in order to participate!
· Must have valid VA Hunting license
· Must have valid VA Big Game license
· Must provide own shotgun and shells (number 2 shot or smaller only)

Hunt 3 - West Virginia Spring Gobbler Hunt - May 7 '05
As we did on our fall deer hunt, we will once again partner with Valley Engineering, Surveying and Planning for a Spring Gobbler Hunt on 1000 acres of prime hunting property near Bergton, Va.(near W.Va. line) Hunters will meet at the Park and Ride on Rt. 259, west of Broadway, early Sat. morning, and drive to hunt site. Hunting time is one half hour before sunrise, until 1:00PM. Lunch will be provided after the hunt. Our host, VESP, will reimburse two hunters for all license fees. Application deadline is April 20th.

Hunt 3 Requirements: Hunters must comply with the following in order to participate!
· Must have valid W.Va. Classes E+CS/LE+WW licenses. (Reimbursed day of hunt)
· Must provide own shotgun and shells (number 4, 5, 6 only).
