Message to snail

I have been noticing your negative posts on several of these boards and I for one think you need to find some kind of help for your depression. This injury with out a doubt sucks but you must learn to accept it and figure out a way to control your bowl and bladder problems, there are many different procedures out there I'm getting an SP tube put in next week to hopefully keep me from being wet all the time. I know how it feels and I'm sure many others here do to but your remarks are not helpful and are beginning to bring me down.

I think Snail is Littlet and 13579. A couple of months ago some wean got on the board and apologized for the manure posts he had made and was seeking forgiveness. The guy was AB and somehow got his rocks off on doing this kind of garbage.

My guess is that he's back in the form of Littlet, 13579 and now Snail.

Dude needs more help than anybody on this board could ever need. Everybody has their own hell in one form or another, his happens to exist in his mind.

My advice in the future . . . if you see these types of posts don't respond. They're not worth it

Larwatson,

Unless Littlet/13579 has moved cross-country, I am fairly certain that Snail is someone else.

larwatson,

I posted some feelings on another thread regarding my thoughts on your recent posts to snail.

As a lawyer, I am very surprised that you are convinced that littlet and 13579 are the same person. Cris said they were based on user data and number of posts. Can this be proven based on:

Littlet: Registered 3/24/03 Posts 6 Date of Birth 07-25-72
13579: Registered 4/22/03 Posts 5 Date of Birth 03-18-69

We could log IP addresses and use ISP information to confirm if messages are originating from the same source. Littlet and 13579 could very well be the same person, but do you have the proof? And, to throw snail in there as well?

I agree with almost all of what you say, but you have been very judgemental as of late. Your hypocrisy associated with your Christian values astounds me. Instead of condemming this person immediately and telling them to "go somewhere else," perhaps you should reach out to them.

In my opinion, I think that it is important that we recognize that suicidal ideations are very common in the spinal cord injury community. As many as 7-10% of the people express suicidal ideations in the first year after injury (and probably many more who thought about it). Several studies have suggested that the rate of suicidal ideation tends to be seasonal and that it declines during the spring and summer months. However, it may also be affected by the anniversary dates of injury which tends to concentrate in the early summer months.

Although the statistics are not very good (because many cases of suicide in people with spinal cord injury are not documented), suicide is said to be the third leading cause of death in people with spinal cord injury. Several studies have suggested that between 1-2% of any spinal cord injury community die from sucide over a five year period. Given that we probably have over 2000 people with spinal cord injury registered on this site, this would suggest that we should expect at least several suicides a year in our community alone.

Wise.

CJO,

My response to your post is the same as on the other. I believe that these posts serve no other purpose than to conjure up bad feelings and illicit certain responses. And given their similarity to Littlet's they appeared to me to originate from the same source.

However, upon reflection and as I write this I have to (grudgingly) agree that you are right. Perhaps I did react to Snail's posts harshly. I will offer no excuses. You are right in that my responses certainly do not reflect how Christ would conduct himself. And that pretty much says it all.

Man I hate it when this happens. Accountability sucks.

Thanks CJO. Every now and then its good to get knocked on my pious butt.

My apologies to Snail.

larwatson,

I was not trying to knock you on your pious butt, that's never my intention. I love what you bring to this forum, your energy is incredible. Perhaps these posts are from the same person, but I don't want the bad experiences from the past to keep us from reaching out to those who need us now.

Sometimes, we have to give people the benefit of the doubt, until they prove otherwise. That's all.

Thanks.

You've removed the plank from my eye (as Bill J. suggested earlier) when I couldn't do it myself. I'm not promising you it won't need to happen again, but that's why I welcome being held accountable. Thanks for being there. I needed it.
