I'm excited - new equipment is about to be ordered

Today VA PT told me my equipment requests have all been properly signed, and VA Prosthetics Dept said they plan to order them tomorrow.

The new equipment includes 1) 25" MagicWheels with Schwalbe MPE tires and Surge handrims, 2) TiLite composite scissor wheel locks (sadly because my D's hub locks won't work with MWs ), and 3) TiLite's Single swivel anti-tip (DU100069). (I am considering buying a pair a Kenda Kobra tires for winter travel with the MWs.)

I'm posting this just because I'm excited. I live in a hilly, suburban neighborhood, and have always needed to drive to leave my yard. I trialed the MWs for two weeks a year ago, and they worked well on the hills (ascending & descending), BUT they failed near the end of the two-week trial. MW assures me they have since redesigned the part prone to failure (and subsequent stranding of the user). I asked VA for a set because MW promises they're fixed.

I am also excited about the single swivel caster anti-tip (like BB chairs have). My dysmetria leaves me unable to control a wheelie well enough not to fall backwards, so I need anti-tips, but I love to tip back and twirl (dance like), and I've bent my standard anti-tippers doing that.

Wow Chas! What a patient, and I'm sure impatient quest you're on. Look forward to a down-and-dirty field report.

Here is my field report from last year. (timing clarification: I just asked the VA for them a couple weeks ago. After the trial last year, I opted not to ask for them because I got stranded when they failed. Thankfully I was only 100' from my front door when they failed, so I was able to get home on my own.)

Congratulations on getting the new setup with MagicWheels approved and ordered. Bummer you have to give up the D's hub locks, but hopefully the MW's make up for them.
