I would recommend that you be turned every 2-3 hours religously, try to get out of bed daily, drink enough fluids all day long, try some assistive coughing on a routine basis. See if doing that helps. CKF |

And call that doctor back if you finish the medicine and are still coughing but feeling better. Ask for more of the medicine. I think the best time to get someone to pat your back is as soon as you wake up in the morning, get a drink of water and then roll onto your stomach with your head over the side of the bed. Have someone pat all over on each side of your back so any phelgm in your lungs gets loosened up. But don't let them hit you hard! Then roll back and sit up in your chair or bed so someone can help you cough if needed. Do everything Nurse CKF said too especially drinking plenty of liquids.

I went to emergency yesterday.
From Thursday until now, my tummy and chest feel painfully, hard to breathe and dizzy. Chest X-Rayed, blood and urine checked, all is okay only urine infection. I feel very upset. what's wrong with me? I wonder is I swallow too much of phlegm? http://sci.rutgers.edu/forum/showthread.php?t=188319 |

You need to get to your primary care doctor right away, not sure what is going on but it has been going on long enough that I would be worried.

No body has similiar condition like me?
Now the condition got better, but my tummy still spasm randomly. Since I C4 have no feeling on my tummy, so I really don't know what is the factor of my pain? Each time when spasm will lead to tummy pain/tight then > chest pain/tightness > hard to breath and feel nausea > very blur. BTW, about my phlegm symptom also got better at least no need other to help me push my chest already but I need to suck out my phlegm myself constantly and this action will make my chest tightness and uncomfortable. One more thing is I can't talk more now. When I talking will lead to a result like tummy spasm. And I really can feel my lungs weak and hollow. Both the symptom above is more serious during morning period. |

The emergency room is for putting "bandaids" on problems and sending you home or to a specialist or be admitted. If you feel you have less answers and more questions that is when you need a primary care provider to track your health on a regular basis.
The forum is a good place to be validated but you really need a primary care provider. I hope that you seek that out. pbr |

i'm c/6/7. i get that phlegm sometimes, mostly in the mornings. my doctor said it was probably sinuses. it's like it's just in the top of my lungs. i sit up in bed and can usually cough most of it up. after i get up in the chair i'm okay. it happens mostly when i'm lying down.

Kimsoon,
Did your physiatrist get copies of your tests from the Emergency Department? You should call and ask especially ask him if anything shows any signs of why you feel like you aren't getting enough air. And the chest pain.
