Monarch Mark 1A, brake pedal bracket...Where can I buy

Hi!
I'm in need of this bracket and bolts for the brake pedal for the Monarch Mark 1A, ours were lost when they were removed and stored away. Anybody know if I can order them online and from whom?

I have enclosed a picture of a similar model with the part I need circled...any help getting these parts is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

We bought a Monarch hand control off ebay not long after my accident.

Turns out that it needed just that little bracket in order to fit my van.

Well, the mothers at Monarch refused to sell the part to us; said we had to be a registered dealer.

We contacted a few registered dealers and they refused because they wanted to charge us the full whack of $$$ to do the compete install.

So in the end we gave up. I bought the crappy travel ones for $250 and have been driving with them ever since.

I did buy a truck (1998 S10) and the Monarchs happened to fit straight up, so thats where they are right now....

Good luck, I hope you can find a source.

Thanks for the reply....Yeah I know what you mean....most mobility places charge an arm and leg! (not trying to be funny). It just amazes me how expensive stuff can be for disabled persons!

The government says we(I) earn too much for her to qualify for benefits (ie. ssi, medicaid) and she's never worked since she's had cp since childhood so doesnt qualify for SS and 48K a year with 2 kids is too much!

Anyways, if I cant find it....I might just have to Macgyver it!

well, that's what I'd do - make one myself (whats the worst that can happen?? ). Just make sure you do a good job fabricating

Just find a good machine shop or welder. They will fabricate on the spot for a few bucks. It will probley be better quality in the long run and less hassle. I have had a few things made over the years that were no longer in production.

ok I think I have a solution...some may not approve but I will fully test it out before my wife even trys to get behind the wheel....

Now if I can find pics of a proper installation, I have the gist but the more images the better....heck the installation manual would be great!!

That plate looks on the thin side, the one you've got circled in your first photo appears to be around 1/4".

You are correct oem is 1/4, I'm thinking of doubling it up by adding another plate. I also have a lead of a retail dealer that will be willing to sell the part I need. So if he's willing I will definitely buy!

Good luck, hope you don't get raked over the coals for that piece because it would be an easy part to make if you had to.

fabricate one... it doesn't look too difficult to have one fabricated. Go to your local metal shop and ask them to make you one. It will probably be around $30.
