Wanted: 14X14 Ultralight Wheelchair

Hi all, I'm new here. I'm desperately looking for a used wheelchair that's 14X14 (at this point I don't care about details). Preferably ultralight since I'm 95lbs soak and wet and I can't lift anything heavier, I'm on my own and I have no car. I've been fundraising but it's not going as great as I hoped. I may just have to buy brand new because I'm not your average size. Even buying used, the cushion alone will set me back a good 200$ being this small.

I have been checking boards, ebay for months and no luck. I'm in Canada. And government funding is not an option at the moment. I'm having complications due to Cerebral Palsy (spastic, diplegic). I've been shuffled from one specialist to another and am not seeing the next one until January 2013. And no one will sign off on assistance programs in the meantime. Reality is, winter is coming and I won't be able to leave the house. I've been on crutches for 7 months and barely making it as it is.

So if anyone has any leads or suggestions, please share!

Thank you!

You like what you see?

Tilite 14x14 on ebay

What are the rest of your measurements. (you don't have to tell me) I just want you to be aware of all the other measurements that are important for a proper fitting chair.

Hi there, I had a similar problem living in Saskatchewan, Canada. Our healthcare is Very little help if your born with a disability & Months to years of testing to prove you need a ultra light. So I found a Very Reasonable priced one on Ebay until I could afford to buy a New one. It was a god send!!! I bought a Tilite ZRA because there the lightest with the most adjust ability so you can make it fit you well. If you want any help MM me. There are groups like TeleMiracle and Shriners that will help pay for at least part of a Ultralight Chair.
Good Luck, Raeleen (cowgirls can go splat)

How tall are you? I am 92 lbs and my seat is 15x15. I am also 5 ft. So size does matter.

Good Luck, Raeleen (cowgirls can go splat)
Ah thanks for that. I'm just appalled by it all, really. I received stellar care when I was younger. Now? Goodluck. But thank you so much for the tips, I tried the Red Cross lightweight recycle program, and well I ran into a similar dilemna I had with Ontario's Assistive Devices Program, and the local charity selling used equipment had nothing in my size either. I suppose they just expect you to wait a year. I won't, and can't. In the meantime I will check out your suggestions If anything, that Tilite on Ebay is my only lead. The leg length is a bit short, and the back way too tall, but I imagine it's not impossible to modify things to a reasonable level until I can afford something better. I've been watching and it's been posted for a while, so I'm guessing I have some time to try and find something more fitting. Will contact if anything!

I'm 5'1, almost 5'2. And most of my weight is on my upper body (I guess that's the upside, you get a nice upper body). Does size ever matter! Everything is so much more expensive at this size. *sigh* I'll keep looking!

Thanks everyone.
