My quote thing didn't work.
When you quote, it creates this. The beginning of the quote, marked by the word quote inside brackets, and the end, with a /quote inside brackets. You erased too much when you were getting rid of extra stuff. easy to do, i do it all the time. you could fix it by adding the
to the end of the passage. Just edit, and type it in. By the way, I added an extra space after the E in the first quote, so you could see what I was talking about. It doesn't belong there. If I get rid of it, this happens. So even little things like a space will mess you up too. Quote:

Have not read the whole thread. Just part about c-diff scares the shit out of me. No pun intended. My last three years have been hell. What started as some minor surgery and a couple days stay at a rehab/nursing home turned into a nightmare. I got so bad that I could eat a slice of carrot then count to 10 and whup....there it was at bottom in. Got so bad that my nephew, who is a big jokester wanted me to buy a goldfish, swallowing the poor thing and videotaping it for youtube. Wish now I had of done it.
I am six feet tall and at the time way about 155. When I left I was still six feet tall but maybe was 135. Still haven't fully recovered. Do anything you can to get rid of that c-diff. Think I had it almost a month. I was so weak and tired. I was ready to give up. I mean give up on everything. I am a C-5 quad for 35 years and have never had anything to kick my ass like that. Drained physically and emotionally. More people on carecure have had more experience than I now all I'll say is do what it takes to get this taken care of. With any nutrients there is never going to be any healing. Donnie |

The medications and probiotics are the best way to start treating the infection. You also need to make sure that fluid intake is increased to replace the fluids lost in the diarrhea. Eletrolyte replacement is also important.
Make sure that EVERYONE who comes in contact with your husband washes their hands. Purrell does not alsways work on all bugs and good old soap and water with at least 30 seconds of scrubbing is the best way to prevent infections. Awashing upon entering and exitting the room is imperative! While I agree with hipcrip on insisting on certain aspects of your husbands care, it is important to not give your husband something that his healthcare providers do not know about. While probiotics by themselves are not harmful. other things can be. So please, be careful and open about communicating your husbands wants and needs. CKF |

c dif f has to be killed with a bleach solution. However most of the time we don't use this in hospitals so.... use bleach solution and make sure everyone washes their hands before entering room and when leaving.
