Sorry Lin, Just noticed I didn't reply to your question.

It's a very loose woven fabric so any moisture can evaporate easily, I think it's pretty much an essential option.

Update, just got another set of wheels with some mountain bike tyres on them for sand or muddy fields etc, combined with my freewheel I can go anywhere!

I went for a pair of 'sun fusion' 16 spoke wheels, they look similar to spinergies but a fraction of the price. They have 12 guage steel spokes painted black, still reasonably light. I put some Kenda 26x1.75 tyres on them (wheelchair 25 = mountain bike 26 (559)) The centre of the tyre is smooth and only has knobbles at the edges, these work great because they don't seem to pick up too much mud. Used the nice schwalbe tubes with the metal valve, good choice! I decided to try some titanium hand rims, if I get on with them I might swap them onto my spinergys. Because the tyres were so wide they ended up touching the chair so I went with some slighly longer axles and a friend of mine machined up some 10mm spacers. Perfect! I think that all totalled around £300, which is HALF what the supplier quoted me, and their quote was with cheapy basic wheels!

Well done, nice chair, I always liked the K4's although I started with a Quickie Argon before move to the ZR2. Light & fully adjustable. Have fun!

Thanks

One thing I really like about the K4's is that if you choose the abducted frame (not V front), it's bent inwards before bending down, which I think is a bit tidier than how quickie and tilite do theirs. I'll have to get some decent pictures, it's quite subtle.

I had the chair up to 20mph down a hill last week (satnav on lap!), even at that speed it turns easily. No caster flutter either, but I guess its pretty unlikely with 4" casters.

Nice chair, hope it works well for you.
It may be difficult to tell from the angle of the pic that the K4 has a modular frame (i.e. a base frame and a seat frame). Therefore, it may not be as extreme as you initially thought.

I am on my third Küshall and I think they are better than any of the other I can get here. I don't like the Panthera and the Quickie chairs, none of them.

20MPH??!!! Well, you were a biker after all, right? :-) I was too, but now I avoid speed limits with the wheelchair, especially with 4'' mounted casters!

The best Kushall wheelchair is the KSL, I tried to order it here in Greece but it turned to a disaster with the dealer and I nearly lost my 'pre-order' money after waiting 6 months with no results. But it must be a top chair..

I have a airlight pro. The KSL looks too wide front and the spiral under didn't work well. If you lean to the left, the whole seat is going left and you can fall out of the chair if you forget to keep the balance I am loosing thing down all the time, I would have been out of the chair in a second
