Probably will not hurt you. Best evidence is for prevention of e. coli bladder infections, not for other bacteria. I would recommend gradually increasing the dose to the amount recommended, and watching for the diarrhea that some people can get with cranberry capsules. There are some who advise against the use of cranberry in those with a history of calcium oxalate stones (fairly common in SCI) due to the high oxalate content of cranberry products, so be sure you are screened for stones on at least an annual basis.

The liquid and the tablet versions of Cystex aren't the same. As KLD explained, the liquid, which also contains D-Mannose and Vitamin C, is a prophylactic primarily against e. coli infections.

The tablet version contains a pain reliever and methenamine (the same medication sold in prescription strength as Hiprex®, Mandelamine®, and Urex®), and is intended for use when you're already symptomatic to, per the manufacturer "prevent the infection from getting worse and easing the burning while you wait for your doctor's appointment." The analgesic is not pyridium, so Cystex tablets provide pain relief without turning your urine reddish-orange.
