Cold feet, one suddenly hot
Ive had cold feet & legs for several years with normal looking skin color. Today my mom noticed my right foot is hot to the touch (even through socks)...no pressure spots or signs of infection. Left foot & both calves are still cold to touch. I've been sitting on a couch with legs elevated or laying in bed all week cause I had cervical fusion Monday. Hospital put TED socks and the pressure calf things on Monday after surgery. Only change in meds was discontinued baclofin because on put on Valium for surgery.
I have a follow up with the neurosurgeon Tuesday for neck. Wasn't sure if this was something I should be more concerned about and try to get looked at before Tues. |

Do you also have a fever? Is that foot or leg swollen as well?
The two things I would worry about would be possible DVT or cellulitis. Either way, you should not delay and get it checked out at the ER. Are you back on baclofen? Valium will not prevent baclofen withdrawal symptoms. (KLD) |

No swelling and no fever.
I'm not back on baclofin. The NS & hospital said I couldn't take it with the Valium so they stopped it day of surgery. NS said no risk of withdrawal since I was only on it for 4 months...5mg 3/day. Still taking heavy dose of Valium & Percocet |

I don't know how long you have been injured but I often have one leg cold and one leg warm. Some places will be warm and cold like I will have a warm spot of three or four inches then it is cold.
At times I can be covered up like an eskimo and my legs will still be cool to the touch. As long as it is not reddened or swollen....in my case it is just the nature of my injury. I don't know what causes it but I am thinking circulation. Since you recently had surgery, I would get it checked out just to be on the safe side though.
