So, for the second time, the Pharisees summoned the man who had been blind and said: / "Speak the truth before God. / We know this fellow is a sinner." / "Whether or not he is a sinner, I do not know," / The man replied. / "All I know is this: / Once I was blind and now I can see." - John IX, 24-26 / the New English Bible

Also did you know John Newton supposedly said to William Wilberforce (a British politician who helped abolish the slave trade), did I once write "I was blind but now can see?" John Newton wrote the song Amazing Grace which includes that line.

John Newton had been a sailor involved in the slave trade but he became an Anglican clergyman and became strongly opposed to the slave trade.

He lost his sight later in life and that is when it is claimed he said to Wilberforce about the line from Amazing Grace "now at last it is true."

Ok Wise, but Boyd just wrote what you said in the June open house...

Not true. I did not say at the June Open House that a quarter of people walked without assistance after two months. His statement is inaccurate and does not represent the results of the study.

Well.. at the June Open house you said "some are walking" which in that contexts is about the same, in my opinion.
If you end up in court consider that the Judge will consider the words and the context and I think it is unlikely you would go free with your arguments.

If I were you I would consider taking my responsabilties and promise not to do it anymore

As Chistopher Paddon said "either he made it up or someone told him"...

Are you suggesting Boyd made up these info?

Paolo

OMG can you please just stop. Wise is in a tough position where he wants to let us know what is going on but knows that protocol is to wait till it is all over and results are published. With your constant badgering I am sure he will be cautious to longer offer any info or opinions on how things are going. It is laughable that you take the time to start mentioning how judges might view things. I would of banned you weeks ago. Please for everyone's sake just stop.

It's not illegal to talk about studies before it is published, if that is what you are thinking. You really needs to read you up a little bit on that. A NEJM editorial on The Ingelfinger Rule could be a good start for you: http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056...98110013051408

What are you talking about? What I said is not the same as what Boyd said.

Wise.

Leif,

Thank you for bringing up the Ingelfinger Rule. Releasing the data before submitting it for publication will jeopardize publication in the best journals.
