Seriously Stephen, i can`t understand why they don`t offer the angled rigidizer bar, because it dosen`t increase the price, you just have to take a tube, give the bends and cut the ends it in the correct angle and weld it, the only difference is a the end cuts in angle.
I see only advantages, reduce weight, is better for who have to push you, etc.
But of course Tilite make a lot of money with their pushandles, so maybe that`s the reason, they want to sell pushandles.

Do you think it will be more confortable pushing the cart with pushandles?, i don`t think so.
Err, I don't want my wheelchair to look like a shopping trolley or pram.

I prefer angled rigidizer bar too, from design point of view, it is more practical than push handle. Push handle will hook anything in the car easily when loading in and out.

I'm revitalizing this thread as I'm in the process of ordering a TR3 with welded back.
Can anyone confirm that I can't have push handles and can get only a high rigidizer bar?

i think it might be about the lack of holes in the backtubes - maybe you could ask them to drill some at a specific height? or you could do ít, and buy a set of push handles to install yourself - but ive never seen a tilite welded back, so i dont know. or cheapest of all, buy a set of bar end handles and clamp them on. but they would be no good for lifting, so youd still have to direct people to the rigidizer bar

Beware...I believe I am correct in saying that adding non-Tilite specific handles will invalidate the Tilite frame warranty. (I am speaking from our experience in successfully getting a warranty replacement, and being told that the only other failure my supplier had heard of was from someone else who had added non-Tilite handles).

Thanks for your inputs, I think I can live without handles for everyday use.
My only concern is when I go to north Africa countries where I need assistance but as this happens only once every 2 years, I should be able to manage it with a spare wheelchair.

is that your oracing chair toto? that looks pretty cool to me. wouldn't help me though. i like push handles to hold onto when i'm leaning over sideways. i don't need to be pushed often.

You can get the push handles with a solid back via their Designs Unlimited options...I looked into that myself.
