There should be directions in the glove box.

What year VMI Northsar is it?

If its newer is should be something like

Press the top button for 4 seconds (either direction should work)

You should hear a long steady beep, the indicator light will come on and then the system will engage itself

you will hear a series of intermittent beeps over the next 23 seconds and will be able to operate the ramp with the other switch during this time
