So you don't poop for 1.5-2 days? Do you know when its going to happen? For instance, if I was on a airplane and couldn't get to the toilet, how would I handle this situation?

Stomach bugs & flu - how does the colostomy handle these situations?

I listed out irrigation in the above post. Message me for more details. I love it more because it gives me freedom to camp, ride the motorcycle with my husband, and participate in all my previous activities without worrying about #2.

I normally irrigate every 24-36 hours just because I like the empty feeling. If I choose not to then my bowel is now trained to go when I tell it to...99% of the time. I irrigate before I go anywhere, especially on an airplane. I usually eat very light before I get on a plane or go somewhere that I can't get to a restroom. If the bag fills up during those times then just remain calm and get to a bathroom as soon as you can. Eating light for 24 hours before those situations is the best idea.

I got the stomach but once. Every time I ate anything my bag would start filling. Just empty it and don't eat much until you get rid of the bug. When you do eat make sure it's stuff that is going to be easy on your tummy until the bug is gone.
