how to use a computer in bed?
I'm C-5. I've never done it. I know I'd need a laptop. How do people do it?
Thank you,

carefully. I have an aquaintance who slept on the laptop power supply, spend a few days in the burn ward.
Might I suggest a tablet? love Love LUV my iPad! For quad hands it's the ultimate web browser/movie player/game boy. I ordered a re-man'd iPad1 for cheap and it doesn't leave my side. Depending on what you want to do with it a tablet is a no-brainer. |

This is what I use: http://www.laptop-laidback.com/
Check eBay first though; sometimes you can get them cheap. |

I use my desktop computer and run an HDMI video out into my television. Then I have my caregiver set up this usb microphone on a table next to my bed.
I control the computer completely with Windows speech recognition. (windows 7) Pic 1 Pic 2 |

I've been doing it for a few years. I have a laptop on the bedside table that hangs over the bed on the left side of my knees. Then I have a trackball sitting on a book with a rolled up towel underneath it to tilt the book a little bit. I'm in a hospital bed and I keep my head up but no higher than 25°. I keep a couple of pillows in my head so I can see the screen well and use either the on-screen keyboard or voice recognition to type. It's pretty cool this way. I can even play some games. Hope this helps
