Neurontin experiances (side effects, alcohol interactions, etc.)

Hi everyone, im new to the site. Ive been doing alot of research on taking Neurontin for nerve pain and the folks on this site seem to really know their stuff.

For the last 2 years I have been suffering from chronic epididymitis which causes me intermittent pain in the left testicle ranging from a minor dull ache to sharp burning pains. It was caused by sports trauma and I have either chronic inflammation and/or nerve damage casuing the pain according to my urologist. I have taken long courses of antibiotics and NSAIDS with little or no improvement so I was then referred to pain management.

So my options are nerve block injections and/or taking Neurontin or Lyrica. Surgery to remove the epididymis or denervate the spermatic cord are last resorts but im looking to hopefully avoid this unless all other options have failed.

I was considering trying Neurontin but I am a bit apprehensive about the side effects as they sound kinda scary. Do the side effects get blown out of proportion? I would appreciate it if anyone taking Neurontin could share their experiences with side effects.

Also, I like to drink socially. Like 3 to 5 beers maybe 2 or 3 nights a week. Im wondering if this will cause problems while taking Neurontin?
