4-AP in Canada?

I was just reading up on 4-AP and I am very interested.. I live in Canada but my rehab physician said she would not prescribe it because it is still 'experimental'..

where would i be able to get 4-AP?

thanks

It will hopefully see the market in the first half of 2010.

You could get a script from a doctor and then have a compounding pharmacy in the States formulate it for you ... I was tempted for many years but couldn't talk a doctor into prescribing something not on the market yet either.

Might as well wait. It won't be long and even then, it's only used 'off-label' for spinal cord injuries and not guaranteed to work (only 1/3rd for some reason).

I'm in Ontario. There was an MS doctor up in North Bay who was prescribing it for MS patients but not without seeing you ... and I wasn't making the trip, nor do I have MS.

There's oodles of info here on this site if you search. Some claim their motility is increased, they felt stronger ... I've yet to come across anyone claiming bladder or bowel which is what I was after (and heard throughout the trials).

It might be worth trying if you're incomplete.

Lynnifer, Iposted previously that Purdue Medical has come with a drug that is 10x more potent than 4ap. I called the group and was told it may mean less side effects than 4ap ( seizures) and could be a real advancement. Acorda is dealing with MS now and spinal issues are taking a back seat. Keep the research coming; I belive something is coming somewhere ,somehow.

I saw your posting but skimmed over it because 4ap has been such a long time coming .. for my own sanity I just want to see it hit the market before I get anxious for anything else, but thanks for the heads up!

I have not heard of a foundation in Canada called Wheel to Walk? Better to stick with the well-knowns ... Canadian Paraplegic Association & Rick Hanson Foundation ...
