Marvel M1 castor wing padding by LizardSkins

A few of you have expressed concern with the front wing of the Marvel M1 having the potential to cause some contact issues with lower legs/ankles.

Using our contacts in the bike industry, we got in touch with LizardSkins - they're a super cool company that all the bad-ass bmx riders and messengers go to for their padding needs.

LizardSkins agreed to make us some custom frame protectors. Here are some photos of the samples that we just got in.

We're still working on finalizing them, but they should be available by the end of November, hopefully earlier.

Here is the wing on it's own with the padding - there are a couple of options, this is the thickest - around 3/8" plus the neoprene cover. The cover and the padding are independent, so you can pick your own padding if you like.

Here is one of our customer service reps, Michaud, sitting in the M1 with the thickest padded wing - he's 6'0", 185lbs, with size 10.5 feet, he rides a bad-ass fixed gear bike of his own as you can see from the size of his legs, and he still has a bunch of room to spare in the ankle department.

While we were at it, we asked them to make one as a straight frame protector for the axle.

You can see from that last photo that we're also working on modifying some saddle bags made by ToPeak to retrofit to the M1.

How water-resistant/proof is LizardSkin?

And give Michaud a raise, or maybe a cupcake. He looks forlorn.

Oddly, he gets paid in cupcakes. His review is soon - I'll dock him some performance points for not "looking happy enough", and let him know that you're to blame.

It's funny - if you ever get the chance to meet Michaud, he's possibly the least forlorn person I've ever met.

Maybe I was projecting wondering when my Marvel is going to show up.

He looks so forlorn b/c he can't go as fast in his Marvel M1 without push rims on the wheels. Besides that, his hands get all dirty from pushing so he can't eat his cupcake payments...
