Self Cathing and pain/bladder issue

I’ve been a c6 quad for a little over a year and tried self cathing a few months ago. I gave up on it due to the fact that: 1. when cathing my neuropathic pain in my bladder/legs would increase dramatically. 2. I would AD and know I had to pee but only put out 100-200cc's worth of urine, most the time 100cc's. I want to start trying again because I'm out of school for the summer, plus I have a super-pubic cath that clogs weekly and it’s a pain for me and my Dad to have to change them constantly. So my question is there ways around the pain, maybe a special lubricant. But mostly I want to know if my bladder is going to be able to hold more. I'm pretty sure it can cause before my injury I could hold a ton.

Any suggestions or help would be awesome.
