rigid chair help
I am looking to get a new chair. Unfortunately, my insurance will not pay for the so called cadillacs I have read about here. The Quickie TI, and the TiLites are too expensive for them. I am currently in a Quickie 2 folding chair. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the Quickie R2 or any other similarly priced rigids. Any suggestions?

look at the ti-lite line, they have a value priced chair just for this reason. it may be chaep enough for your insurance to consider. also if you document teh need for a light chair then they can not deny you. FIGHT IT!

Who is helping you appeal this decision and writing up your medical justification? Don't just take this "laying down". A good SCI physician or PT can write a decent justification for a lighter weight chair based on prevention of long term shoulder damage and energy conservation. It does need to be detailed and they nearly always deny the first request.
