HO

I do not fully understand HO. Can you explain it a little more. Is it lump of some kind. I have a lump around my tailbone annd do not know what it is. It does not seem to be an ulser (there is no redness) It is just a lump that appears from time to time and can be very painful. Never had any problems with ulser of any kind thank GOD. Going to see doc tommorow would like more info regarding HO.
Thanks

HO

I think HO is primarly a joint issue but am not sure.

The bump on the tail bone could be a pondial cyst (spelling unsure) a few friends have have this and ended up in surgury. A few others have had it treated with antibiotics. But it definately is one that requires more that home treatment.

HO info

Actually HO is more of a soft tissue problem. It's cause is not certain, but what happens is that bony-like material starts to grow in muscle, tendon and other soft tissue areas where it does not belong. As it calcifies, the area looses any ability to stretch, and can eventually lead to complete loss of ROM of the nearby joint. It does not come and go, so it sounds like your coccyx problem is probably not HO.

For more information, use this link to access two different articles on HO:
