Can't cath and losing it

I have not been able to cath all day. My bladder is full and leaks but when cath it goes in and stops and I have tried over and over and it is well lubricated an enclosed cath system. I try putting it in and taking it out and back in and no luck.

I am about to fing lose it. It's bad enough to have to jam something in to ur 1 cm joke of a penis to drain your bladder but now I can do that f this joke of a life

I hope you have gone to the ER now. If you cannot drain your bladder at all, it is an emergency. They will likely want to put a indwelling urethral catheter in place. Have you been diagnosed with strictures or a false passage? You need evaluation by a urologist right away.

I use to have that problem when I was in the hospital after my injury. I have two tips for you and one question.

Are your catheters those soft kind are the hard ones? I personally have to use the hard ones.

Tips
*If you are able to scoot up in your chair some so you can lean back some. Can also try laying in the bed if your at home that works %100 for me when I have trouble.

*Pull up on your penis(Stretch it out) and then insert your catheter and try to cath.

*Also you may know, try to calm down and be calm when your cathing.

I really had a hard time trying to cath in my chair years ago until a nurse gave me those tips and haven't had that many problems since.

Thanks. 12 hrs later after wetting myself I was finally able to cath. I have had a few times where it was tough but never this bad. I tried maybe 5 times in a span of 12 hrs. I use the red touchless Bard System so it's inclosed and lubricated.

I may of over reacted but just so frustrating. Yea I always try to stretch my penis before inserting but between wearing gloves and the tiny tiny tiny size it has become post SCI it was hard. I have really thought about taking daily cialis just to make cathing easier but not in a position to pay for that at this time.

I can't use the red rubber ones at all, way too soft, they fold over trying to get thru my tight sphincter.

You should keep some hydrophyllic cath sets around, they are way slipperier than normal lube set. I use straight cath and lube at home, but when out and about I use this enclosed cath set:
( I don't use Allegro, just had a good picture)

I have had "lock up" issues before at home, and I would use the SureCaths and they work every time.

I'm with McDuff I can't use the red rubber either. My pharmacist sent us the wrong ones and they are horrible plus I think they are a little shorter in length.
I use the Bard touchless and in the morning my urethra is very dry and I need to work the cath in with lots of lube. I usually have to add lube to the prelubed catheter and work it slowly in. The other problem is if I have morning wood the caths aren't long enough and I have to wait till I "relax"
I usually dread my morning cath because it takes so long.

Instilling either water soluble lubricant or 2% lidocaine gel into the urethra prior to catheterization is a big help for many men. You see a lot of urologists using this technique when performing difficult catheterization. Unfortunately it is difficult to find pre-filled lubricant slip-tipped syringes in the USA, although you can make up your own if you can get a prescription for 10 cc. slip-tip syringes from your physician.

those red ones were WAY to wobbly and flexible. Try some silicone clear ones like this...

i'd have that problem too.. hit an obstruction.

i would fill a sterile urine sample cup with lube, and fill it 3/4 with lube and dip my cath in that. lube the tip good.

I have had similar problems, and switched to coude tips - really helps. Getting frustrated/scared makes it worse...
