My cruise on the norwegian sky

Just a quick post with pic's from the inboard wheelchair accessible cabin 9318 which is on deck 9 of the ship .... I had an excellent experience on this cruise which is a new style "freestyle" cruise , it was more relaxed it seemed no black-tie dinners no set dinning times ... if you want you can but not required ..... the garden cafe is buffet style, and outdoor buffet on the stern as well, and a bbq by the pool, and a number of sit down restaurants .... 3 of which have "cover" charges the rest are no charge ....i didnt have any issues other then not all doors going out on deck have ramps but dont worry theres one within a few strides ..... smoke free inside the ship with exception of the casino....

Great to hear you had a pleasurable cruise. Wonder what the deal is that the casino isn't non smoking?

Thanks for posting the good pictures.

All the best,
GJ

Virtually all ship casinos allow smoking. The gamblers would riot without it. One of the reasons that we avoid even traveling through the casino area on a cruise.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise! I just got back a few weeks ago from a 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Freedom of the Seas.

It was WONDERFUL!

The only cruiseline that has non smoking casinos on their ships is Celebrity.

We went to St Thomas and St Maarten on this last cruise and both were "docked" ports. it was great! Although I found St Maarten (Dutch) to be a lot more accessible than St Thomas was and St Thomas is a US Virgin Island!

it was no problem getting off the ship at all the gangway is a little steep but the staff gladly pushes you up it if you need it. they are VERY helpful!

There was a fold down bench in the roll in shower. but i brought the chair i use to shower in as in the booking info it said you must provide your own equipment needed. Also if your renting it and having it delivered there was only one vendor approved to deliver onboard the ship ..

We stopped in 2 "ports" , 1 really it was nassau bahamas , like ryano said gangway was a bit steep and akward but there more then willing to assist.... the island itself had some typical challenges with curb cuts or lack of... and quite a few stores had 6-10 inch steps to enter into them... i did see a few wheelchair adapted taxis in the livery line to take wheelers confined to there chairs around the island .... the other port was there own personal island of great stirrup cay, where they anchor out and use tenders to fairy you to the island ... it was a bit rough so i opted out as i could see the tender hitting 3/4 foot chop and making it hard for ab's to stay stable during the transport .......
