Question Sunday Morning Presentation About Spinal Pain

I know this is not "exactly" perfectly relevant here but I was watching "Sunday Morning" on CBS this morning and they had a piece on a new, very innovative type of minimally invasive surgery (needle only) that is supposed to replace the old open spinal surgery that has prevailed for so long. There are no screws or rods or anything. It is just an injection of two ingredients into the effected spinal disk. This forms a fibrinogen tissue to grow inside the disk and rebuilds it and fills in the damaged spaces. It is going through FDA trials right now and looks very promising.

I know....not the same thing. I know this, however, I was just imagining a possible future for the therapy:

I wonder if, further down the road and accompanied by some stem cell research, this or a similar procedure might have some good results with spinal cord injuries. That would be so awesome!!

It's definitely something to hope for and think about, don't you think?

Slikvee,

Thank you Sir! Great information! I'm dealing with severe pain all up and down my entire spine due to disk degeneration(years of bad posture) and the c4-c5 fusion is also causing sever arthritic pain between my shoulders. This treatment sounds very promising, thank you again for posting this.
