Knots/Bumps around flap surgery scar????

Hi,
I had ischial flap surgery on 1/7/11. I am fully healed and life is back to normal. This morning I noticed two knots around my scar. There is not color to them, no skin is broken, everything looks good but the knots/bumps are 3/4 of inch and hard. Does anyone know what this could be?

Are they red? Warm? Squishy? If so, you could have an abscess. Get them looked at by a wound specialist.

If not, then it is likely that you are feeling areas of scarring associated with the flap healing. Scar continues to remodel and reform itself for up to a year post surgery. Avoid massage and keep an eye on them for future breakdown potential.

They are on the side of the scar and they are firm. No red or squishy. Is it ok for me to sit?

Did you have drainage tubes after? I did and have two similar spots to each side of my scar ... that was more than 20yrs ago though so not sure if they do that anymore.

I did have drainage tubes afterwards but it was in a different area than where these knots are. I'm going to make an appointment and see what I can find out.
