Arrow Simple explanation of urine day vs night?

During the day I don't have much urine out put.
So when I go to bed my belly is hugh. Like I'm 10 mos. pregnant.
By morning my belly is flat and my night bag is full of urine.
I know it's been said on here that our kidney's filter at night.
So where is this urine when I go to bed at night?
My bladder (sp cath) has shrunk to the size of a walnut.
So the urine isn't in my bladder.
Do my kidney's hold over 2,000 cc's at one time?
That's what's in my bag in the morning.

Thanks for any info on this. Mona

I think it also has to do with edema and water retention. I'm super puffy in my limbs by the time I get to bed, but normal (ha ha) by morning.

The fluid is stored in your tissue(s) and then the kidney's filter it when the extremities are no longer in a downward position. It helps to have the fluid "pushed" towards the heart so that it can then go to the kidneys. I am not sure that this is an more helpful than the above postings.... sorry.

Thanks, all are great answers!

Thanks CKF. As we drink in the day it goes to our tissues & the kidneys filter it at night? Why is my midriff hugh when I go to bed & flat next morning? I'm sure there's alot in my tissues. I swell too. But it's somewhere in my midriff. It's hugh but my bladder is small. So where?
