botox for the bladder

Is botox injects still considered experimental for a neurogenic bladder? If so, I know medicare won't pay for the meds. Any idea on what botox cost?

Around $500/vial wholesale. Depending on where your physician gets it, it can run more than $1000 just for the drug (which must be used all at once if it is reconstituted). The physician's charges for the cystoscopy, any anesthesia needed, and the actually procedure will of course be considerably more than that.

You might want to see if you can get into a clinical trial. There are still a number of them soliciting patients.

Not sure why you could not travel. It is unlikely you will find a study in your own town.

gary has MAJOR spasticity which deems it near impossible to travel far. His neuro is 2 hours away and puts him down for about a week. He has attacked after the trip. Done the baclofen and all with little or no results. I'll check the studies
