    Exercise/stability ball

Does anyone use one of the large rubber exercise/stability balls for working out? after my accident (compression fracture of t11-t12) i now have 4 bulging disks in my lumbar region and by bouncing on one of these balls it will help build the muscles and help to re-hydrate the disks? I am skeptical because they were also pushing me towards the X?? 9000 decompression machine, give them $5000 THEN we will make you feel better.....

Be careful of those balls, they can roll out from under you and cause additional injuries. Also, I fail to see how bouncing could do anything other than increase the degree of your disc bulges (since bouncing is a compressive act, in itself). My gut instinct is to be wary.
