    Best and Easiest Protein

What's the easiest and best protein suppliment to take to heal a pressure sore? Weight gainer stuff just made him gain weight. No additional pounds needed, just additional protein. And easy to mix or drink.

There's several products on the market. I would tell you to speak with a dietician to see what they recommend. Each of the products has their pluses and minuses....

If he's willing to drink flavored water, he can get some extra protein in by drinking the SpecialK Protein Water. It tastes pretty good(I prefered lemon) and has 5 grams of protein per serving...It's expensive compared to other bottled/flavored waters tho, about $1.50/bottle...but was worth it for me when I needed all the extra protein I could get

You can also get Ensure Light (which I always thought was funny). You can make a great shake with it using non-fat iced milk or sherbert.

Try adding powdered non-fat milk to just about everything you prepare or cook...casseroles, soups, pudding, etc. etc. Also, drinking non-fat milk several times daily. Eating lean meats, chicken and fish are also good sources of high quality protein.

Here it is. One of the Dietitians from Magee Rehab helped develop this stuff.

The most digestible out there. Highly recommended for wound care.

I've had more than one wound care nurse tell me that eggs contain the best protein for healing pressure sores. I try to eat at least two a day.

Yes, but just the egg whites. I also eat boneless, skinless chicken breasts and occassionally p'nut butter.

Syntrax nectar is a good mix. It comes in fruit flavors and mixes with a spoon. It's not thick either. You can call and ask for samples. Don't buy from the site, it's cheaper elsewhere.

http://www.allthewhey.com/ sells their own brand of protein powders and they sell trial packs. I buy their unflavored and add it to recipes, oatmeal, yogurt etc..
