Creating a web site with Dreamweaver 8

Has anyone had any experience creating a web site with Adobe Dreamweaver 8? I don't really know much about using code to create it so I've been using the display setting. It's coming along, but I would like to add a scrollbar on the side in one frame of a table to scroll through pictures and choose which one to display larger in the same window. Hopefully what I just said makes sense. Thanks.
Frankly, I'm tired of sitting in this damn electric chair.

I'm a webmaster and have used DW 8 a little, primarily CS3 now. What are you trying to do? I'm not reading it right or something.

Well, let's see if this makes any sense. The page I'm working on will have links on the left side to other pages on the web site. On the right side, I'm wanting to have a bunch of picture choices which you can scroll through. When you get to the thumbnail you want to see, you click on it and it opens up the picture in a larger size in the center of the page. It seems like a pretty basic idea for a web page but I'm definitely not too advanced at creating these. I tried putting a layer on the right side and setting the overflow to scroll but didn't have any idea what to do afterwards. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You could try making a new page for the larger graphics and link to them, or open the larger photo in its own screen. Such as using target _blank when you make the link. If you want a new page that opens at an exact width/height, you'll need to add in some more code to the link.

you'll kill a lot of time coding this manually.

suggestion: create a Simpleviewer gallery & embed it into your page. It's free, Flash-based, and likely more elegant than whatever you're trying to create. Check it: http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/

Wow! I think that simpleviewer program will work perfectly for what I was looking for. What a great, free program! Thank you both for your help.

Well, I thought I had it all figured out but apparently I spoke too soon. I created a small gallery and followed along with the FAQ way (from the viewer web site) to insert the gallery in my Dreamweaver HTML page and ran into some problems. When I try to preview my page in a browser, I click the view gallery link and this page pops up with nothing on it.

Would you happen to know exactlyhow do insert itinto Dreamweaver?I would like to have other images, text, and other linkson the web site also.Thanks.

assuming you have web space, can you publish the page you're working on? I'd be happy to take a look at it.

also, read through the FAQ again & make sure everything is correct.
