    Wow,I'd forgotten about this thread!I never knew what they were before this.I had them frequently as a child,but never get them now.I just remember they smelled and tasted horrible,not to mention they were annoying when I swallowed.Yuck!

    Wow, I didn't know such things existed. Thanks for giving me something else to worry about LOL. I always get wierd stuff like this so I am sure I will get one in the future and make my doctor scratch her head some more.

    LOL yes they were! I guess because I've had kids with infected sores.
    Plus when I was young had risens. Nowadays kids don't have them as much.
    Anyway I just kept watching. Now it's supper time & can't eat. lol
    I keep seeing them in my head.

    I have a feeling I'm gonna regret asking this, Mona, but what are risens -- some sort of boil maybe? Never heard that term before.

    Yes as a kid I had a couple my leg, bottom.
    One had a real hard center that you couldn't squeeze out.
    When my sister got it out I had a hole. lol
    I played in dirt alot as a child.

    Risens is a regional term for boils, caused by bacterial infections, usually staph (often MRSA now days).
