Northwestern Colorado: Today may be the first day in 2 weeks we will get above freezing. Kinda miserable, but the mosquitoes aren't bad!

The long await cold front is arriving! Our high will be around 65 tomorrow. Low near 50. The natives will be all bundled up in sweaters and hats for the next few days.

From the summit of Mount Washington.....

    http://www.mountwashington.org/weath...t_forecast.php

Be sure to check out the forecast for tomorrow - In the clouds w/ a chance of snow showers. Wind chills -40 early falling to near -50. Highs: around -5°F

Wind: NW 70-100 mph w/ higher gusts

And to think that this is a relatively common thing up on the summit!

Not so bad here in the OzArtic....we just had about an inch and half of snow, then got down into the low teens, what didn't melt today (sunny) is now hard ice. I already had a nasty fall Thursday morning on the ramp at work, very sore still.

After a storm that dumped eight inches of snow on Friday, It warmed up. Today...snow, freezing rain, and wind. Right now, at 3:00a, the temp is sinking into the teens, and by morning...ice everywhere. This evening, an airliner skidded of the runway at Green Airport in Warwick. No injuries, thank God! And winter is still a week away!

In our part of Ohio this weekend, the forecasters couldn't decide if we'd get rain, snow, ice or sleet - so we got them all

Throw in some high winds and bitter cold and it's been just swell!
