Thread: suprapubic catheter

    suprapubic catheter

Can anyone tell me if a suprappublic catheter with a catheter vavle used in place of a drainage bag is commonly used in the U.S.?

I've been searching, but have only heard mention of a flow valve that allows urine to be stored in the bladder and emptied straight into the toilet on websites in the UK. Does anyone use a shut-off valve? Help!

The leg bag has a one way valve. We are going to try to start researching some type of SP valve at the VA in Houston- sound similar.
