Question on Craig Institute for rehab

I am posting this question. A few weeks ago my cousin was injured in a skateboarding accident He's in a hospital in denver. He finally agreed to go to Craig. His family was told he had Cigna insruance by a social worker. Now they saying they need to verify insurance.

He does not have a spinal cord injury, but I know I've seen a number of post about Craig, And thought this might be a good place to ask that if for some reason he does not have insruance does any one know of any programs at Criag for financial assistance?

Thank you in Advance for your assistance. I greatly appreciate it and so does my aunt.

If he does not have a spinal cord injury, does he have a traumatic brain injury? Those are the two major programs at Craig, so otherwise I would not understand why he would need to go there.

It is very common for insurance to balk at paying for the best program. Push them. Ask for written copies of the denial. Ask for expedited review/appeal of the denial by a physiatrist (not just any physician).

Craig has staff who can help with this process. If a referral has already been made, call the admitting department and ask to speak to the liaison nurse who is assigned to his case.

Yep Craig is great. For either TBI or SCI. Their social work department will help with insurance issues.

    Good luck.
