My attendant gets paid by an agency that is paid thru a Medicaid waiver program so she doesn't get any benefits. I was thinking of supplying her w/ some level of medical insurance. Anybody out there do this? Would I have to be an actual "employer"? Any recommendations on which insurance company would be best and/or easiest to work with? What would the tax implications be for her and me? Would it be better if I paid the premiums for some insurance she had of her own?
