Thread: FYI update

    Post FYI update

I would like to thank all of you here and at PQ for your kind words of encouragement. I had the upper GI Friday which was the easiest damn test I have ever had. Nice nurses that actually READ up on AD as per instructed by my Dr.
Bottom line...nothing is wrong. YAY! He (gastroenterologist) thinks it's SCI related. Neuropathic pain caused by referred pain. He doesn't know why I was sweating though. He suggested I visit with my SCI doc @ Mt. Sinai which I shall do soon.

I sometimes wish they would find something as I feel foolish going to doctors with this horrific pain and there's no physical cause. If I wasn't profusely sweating and dry heaving I think they would think I was faking it (I know not a rational thought; just one that crosses my mind).

So, that's that. Thanks again for making me feel I'm not a head case.

may I ask why more specifically why you needed to the upper GI?

It's good to know what it isn't. I have been following your plight but didn't say anything because I had polio not an SCI.

I sure hope your SCI doc can find the reason.
Keep up the diary if you are up to it. Surely is a mystery and to solve it may help many..especially YOU.

Well Liz, it's good to hear nothing's physically wrong. I'm just sorry you're having so much pain and other crap.

Hey that is good news Liz, I too was following your other thread about it. I don't get what is causing your pain though, it sounds horrible. Sorry, and I hope you find some kind of relief for it in the future.

Sorry to hear of your suffering, Liz. Glad nothing new has cropped up. I sweat a lot at night, not sure what that is all about. But...I do not have the pain you are dealing with. Keep on going, and I pray relief will soon find you......John

    Yup.

I recall being post 4 years or so and having a pain in my left side (kinda like when you run after a pepsi) this was worse and spread. Pain is still here but I'm stoic. Anyway my SCI doc att that time explained "referred" pain. Stopped eventaully.

I have to find TimC's posts as I think he was dealing with this issue as well.
