Thread: Moving downloaded music..

It's actually much easier than that. If you open limewire, click on the tab that says library then there is a little file card located at the lower right hand corner of the library window that says explore. Click on explore and it will open all of the songs that you have downloaded from Limewire. Right click on the songs individually and choose open with...and choose iTunes and viola! they are now in your iTunes library.

Be careful with Limewire. A lot of hacky shit happened when it was on my computer.

Thanks to all who replied. I actually just got finished. I deleted the corrupted iTunes library as I couldn't get the exclamations to go away. I then found the folder on my comp where the songs were and clicked on each one and repopulated iTunes.

quadcna, that's how I did it many months ago and couldn't figure it out. Thanks for the reminder.

some poor woman just got a quarter million dollar judgment against her for downloading 24 songs from Kasaa. my son uses lime wire. any of you guys nervous about using it? I get him to not share the files that he downloads, but I suspect they have some way to find you anyway. I also feel some guilt over using it.

Wes, I quickly checked Google and found nothing. Do you have a link?

I seen it too, never read it though.

Funny enough, ALL Peer to Peer programs show your IP plainly out there for all to see.

Just don't share the files you download.

I also use Limewire to download music, but stick to bittorrent for anything else.

Todd you might have downloaded a music file thinking it was a music file but if its <2,000 kb it probably isn't.

Limewire itself doesn't implant viruses or torjans, it could give you malware or spyware though but nothing that would destroy your system and is easily removed. The files you download off limewire will contain viruses/trojans that could damanage your system but so can the files of any other P2P software.

    Goodness.

And on the Wikipedia page about Limewire is this -

On September 7, 2007, Gregory Thomas Kopiloff of Seattle was arrested in what the U.S. Justice Department described as its first case against someone accused of using file-sharing computer programs to commit identity theft. According to federal prosecutors, Kopiloff used Limewire to troll other people's computers for financial information and then using it to obtain credit cards for an online shopping spree, federal prosecutors said Thursday
